Dear Colleague:
We are pleased to send you the spring 2013 issue ofInternational Higher Education. This issue asks some fundamental questions about for-profit higher education. Articles also focus on the new trend toward “branding” universities, higher education and its impact on income distribution, religion and higher education in Europe, and others.
The latest International Brief for Higher Education Leaders, our collaboration with the American Council on Education, is included here. This informative publication concerns “Global Engagement-New Modalities” and may be downloaded from the ACE website. The next Brief publication-“India: The Next Frontier“-will be released in late April 2013, preceded by a webinar on April 25, in which Philip Altbach is a featured speaker.
The Center will host an international symposium at Boston College on April 5, 2013, titled “At the Forefront of International Higher Education.” This unique event–free and open to the public–will feature a dozen or so top scholars from around the world convening to discuss key global trends in higher education that have been at the heart of the Center’s work since its founding nearly 20 years ago. RSVP is required: http://bit.ly/126ZC5t. For more information about this event, please see the event program (PDF file) or contact [email protected].
