We are pleased to provide you with the Fall 2016 issue of International
Higher Education (Number 87). With the release of this issue of IHE, we are
delighted to announce the addition of a French language version of our
publication—our seventh language. The French-language edition is made
possible by the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie.
In addition to these translations, we have worked with colleagues in Russia
and in Southeast Asia on the development of original publications modeled on
IHE but focused on those regions and produced there. Higher Education in
Russia and Beyond, launched in 2014 (https://herb.hse.ru/en/), is produced
by the Higher School of Economics in Moscow. A new initiative is Higher
Education in Southeast Asia and Beyond, published by the HEAD Foundation in
Singapore (http://www.headfoundation.org
and are distributed electronically free of charge. This year will see a
similar spin-off of IHE in Spanish and Portuguese, Educación Superior en
América Latina, as a result of cooperation between CIHE and our colleagues
involved in the Spanish- and Portuguese-language editions of IHE—that is,
CEPPE in Chile and SEMESP in Brazil— together with UniNorte in Colombia.
One of the key priorities of the Center for International Higher Education
is to encourage global dialogue on higher education—these publications
contribute to this endeavor.
Issue #87 provides our usual array of analyses of international issues and
internationalization trends. Special foci on ethics, transnational
education, and several analyses of key national and regional themes are also
included. As always, we welcome your feedback and suggestions for future
articles.
